Clarity Systems

OLAP Solutions’ Experts have designed and implemented numerous business intelligence projects for all version of Clarity.

• Designed and implemented a detailed Event Planning Clarity implementation for a Fortune 500, industry–leading food services and facilities management company. The Clarity application allows locations to input daily event metrics and financials, providing both the corporate office and the location a wealth of valuable financial information for analysis and strategic decision-making.
• Resolved major issues and significantly improved a Clarity application for a large global communications firm. The Clarity application had been plagued by performance and automation issues that required manual intervention. OLAP Solutions made significant changes to the application that changed end users’ perceptions from “throw it away” to “we can’t live without this application.”
• Implemented a global budgeting application based on Clarity for a well–known global financial advisory firm. OLAP Solutions led the Joint Application Design (JAD) session, technical system design and architecture and ongoing project oversight. In addition to being a Clarity-based application, the solution also uses a 20 database-partitioned Essbase environment to optimize both retrieval and calculation performance.
• Designed and implemented a corporate performance management–based forecasting solution for a sports and entertainment division of a world leader in food and hospitality services. OLAP Solutions designed the system, which consisted of the database model, process flow, automation, performance, templates and reports. OLAP Solutions also managed the development team.

Oracle Essbase

OLAP Solutions’ Experts have helped clients incorporate Essbase into many projects including:

• Managed the implementation of a Financial Consolidation solution for a publicly traded, large national media company. OLAP Solutions defined the project specifications, designed the Essbase application and managed the implementation. OLAP Solutions implemented automated reporting tools, resulting in faster month–end reporting and better access to key financial data.
• Designed, developed and implemented a Financial Consolidation system for a leading school bus transportation services company. OLAP Solutions managed the project planning, building and optimization of the Essbase model, creating reporting tools and integrating a scheduling process. The Essbase application became the sole means of consolidating financial information from more than 30 subsidiaries, and delivers better, higher quality data, in less time than the previous system.
• Designed and developed an Essbase Marketing Analysis System for a time–share vacation club of a worldwide, Fortune 100 entertainment brand. OLAP Solutions worked on the project planning, model design, and Essbase–specific aspects of the project. The system provides the marketing department with a significantly improved ability to analyze the effectiveness of marketing strategies to both existing and potential clients.
• Developed and maintained multi–dimensional Essbase databases to support the retail department of an integrated energy company. OLAP Solutions designed, developed and implemented the new databases and processes, significantly improving data integrity. The high quality data is used to determine the effectiveness and profitability of pilot initiatives.

Microsoft SQL Analysis Services

OLAP Solutions’ experience with Microsoft Analysis includes:

• Designed, managed and implemented a Clarity corporate performance management implementation on Microsoft Analysis Services for a leading global real estate company based in more than 70 regions, with nearly 96,000 sales professionals. By utilizing the features and benefits of Microsoft Analysis Services, OLAP Solutions designed a budgeting and forecasting application that provides real–time consolidated results and satisfied the client’s business requirements. This project became a Clarity “Best Practices” implementation for dynamic currency and optimized retrieval performance.

Additional business intelligence experience

With a deep and wide expertise in budgeting, forecasting and business intelligence solutions, OLAP Solutions has worked with variety of business intelligence products and applications. Some highlights include:

• Implemented a corporate performance management solution for a leading North American conference center and hospitality service provider. The corporate performance management system replaced an existing cumbersome and labor-intensive Excel-based data collection and reporting system. After an initial pilot with one division, OLAP Solutions rolled out the corporate performance management solution to the entire organization, on time, and on budget.
• Designed and managed the implementation of a corporate performance management–based forecasting and budgeting system for a leading diversified financial services company. OLAP Solutions created easy–to–use Capital Planning, Travel and HR templates and detailed expense reports for analysis and decision–making. As a result of OLAP Solutions’ work, the client was able to move to a three–year rolling budgeting and forecasting process.
• Led the design and implementation teams for a Financial Consolidation application for a products management group of a global leader in the petroleum industry. OLAP Solutions developed the project specifications, designed the database and managed the project, which reduced the company’s financial reporting cycle.
